Moroccan and Nordic artists on Casablanca billboards
Photographic works by women artists will fill the billboards of the Moroccan metropolis Casablanca in the first half of April.
Billboard Festival Casablanca 2015 gives the artists’ works a monumental and powerful visibility in public space. Blown up on the 4×3 meters billboards, the artists’ photos will bring new images to the streets of Casablanca and tell very different stories than the advertising that dominates the streets of many cities worldwide. Billboard Festival Casablanca 2015 gives women the opportunity to express themselves on their own terms, and makes the city more open and creative city – for everyone.
Billboard Festival Casablanca 2015 is supported by KVINFO’s Minipool under the Danish-Arab Partnership Program. No less than 63 Moroccan and Nordic contemporary women artists are represented with each their billboard – including works by selected students from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and École Superieure des Beaux Arts in Casablanca. The art works are displayed on the billboards from April 1st-15th and during the first week of the festival there’s also a festival event program of artist talks, video screenings, performances and panel debates.
