About Kvinfo

KVINFO is Denmark’s knowledge centre for gender and equality. KVINFO works at the intersection between knowledge, politicy and practice. As a knowledge centre for gender and equality, we create an overview of research and knowledge in the field and bring this knowledge into play broadly to decision-makers, media, companies, organisations and the public in Denmark and internationally. We convert knowledge into change by developing tools and solutions to specific challenges related to gender.

We see it as our obligation to create public value by, for example, pointing out and responding to significant societal challenges that directly relate to gender and equality, or where knowledge about gender is a key to creating change.

Vision

KVINFO’s vision is a free and equal society. By free is meant a society where structures, norms and stereotypes about gender support the individual in unfolding its full potential. By equality is meant equal opportunities and rights to participate on an equal footing in society, regardless of gender.

Mission

KVINFO’s mission is on a basis of knowledge to qualify societal debate and change and to promote gender equality in a current context nationally and internationally. Through the development and use of tools, knowledge dissemination and advocacy, we contribute to norm, cultural and structural changes.

KVINFO is a self-governing institution with its own board. The day-to-day management is handled by director Henriette Laursen.
