Who we are
International work
KVINFO’s international work for gender justice takes place in the Middle East and North Africa, which is often called the MENA region, and in Eastern Europe and Caucasus. We currently work in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia.

KVINFO works at the crossroads between knowledge, politics and practice. As a knowledge center for gender and equality, we create an overview of research and knowledge on the field and bring this knowledge into play broadly to decision-makers, media, companies, organisations and the public in Denmark and internationally. We apply knowledge to drive change through tools and solutions tailored to gender-specific challenges.
We see it as our commitment to create public value, for example, pointing out and responding to significant societal challenges directly related to gender and equality or where knowledge about gender is a key to creating change.
VISION
KVINFO’s vision is free, equal and democratic societies for everyone, irrespective of gender.
By free we mean a society in which structures andnorms support individuals in living out their full potential.
By equal we mean that everyone is granted equal rights and genuine opportunities to participate on equal footing in society.
By democratic we mean the principles and processes that give equal access to the cultural, social, political, economic and institutional communities in society.
MISSION
KVINFO’s mission is to operate on a foundation of knowledge to promote gender equality in a contemporary context, both nationally and internationally. We contribute to norm, cultural and structural changes through the development and use of tools, knowledge production and dissemination and advocacy.
The letters in KVINFO stand for the Danish words Køn – Viden – INformation – FOrskning (gender – knowledge – information – research).
